You Need Money To Make Money

Have you heard the saying "you need money to make money"? What do you think about it?

I think it's true. If you want to make money online with Internet/Affiliate Marketing you have to invest some money in order to jumpstart your business. You need money to buy a domain name and hosting, you may need some money to buy some templates or pay a designer for building your site and/or squeeze pages, you may need to buy some plugins and then you need money to buy traffic.

You may or may not need to invest on all what I said. And the money you need really depends on what you are willing to spend. The great thing about the Internet is that with an investment as low as $10 or $15 (to get domain name and hosting) you are good to go.

Do you also think you need money to make money?

 

Yes, I completely agree that it takes money to make money. The best example of that is starting your own business. Before you can begin making money, you must obtain a business license, which cost money. Be it as small as it is, that's the statement in action.

 

My mom would always say scared money doesn't make any money, which is true. But I feel like sometimes we shouldn't have to pay to make money for some sites. We are looking for money, why would we just spend money on something we are no completely sure will make our money. I do feel as if scared money doesn't make money but you have to be smart on what you use that on because you don't want to just waste money. Especially if money is tight.

 

Nowadays, it's totally right. A few years ago, you could make money a lot easier, in fact, a lot of people were making a killing by simply submitting articles to Ezinearticles. At that time, Ezinearticles would rank really well in Google, but then Google decided that they didn't want articles on the first page anymore.

 

Of course you need money to make more money. It's not possible to earn money with zero investment. Even is you use websites like Hubpages where you don't need to pay for domain or servers, you'll still need money to pay for internet charges.

 

I think it's possible to make money without giving money but it would take some time and effort which to me is a a lot more valuable than money, so I think it is at the very least technically accurate. You're right though that you don't really have to spend that much which is what's great about the online economy since you not only can save on gas and time and effort in traveling and talking to people but everything is more or less just a few clicks away.

 

To get started, you probably do need a bit of spare money that you can throw into making some investments in hosting and such. After that though, you shouldn't need to spend money except on a domain name, which is pretty inexpensive. If you do things the right way, you should should be able to generate your own revenue pretty rapidly, without an upfront investment.

 

I started and built my business without any money so it can be done. The key is to take the small amounts of cash you earn doing little things like paid surveys or microtasks and then invest that cash into building your business. If you're going to have a real online business, you'll have to spend money on things like domain registration and hosting, but you don't have to take that cash out of your budget if you play your cards right.

 

Well I didn't need any money and I'm making money. Sure 30$ / month is not much, but I made them with zero investment, lots of time, and nice video editing skills. Then again I got pretty lucky because I invested some of the money I earned through AdSense in cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and litecoin and sold them at the right time. That allowed me to make even more money to invest in other opportunities.

The important point of what I'm trying to say is: You absolutely do not need money to make money, but the first couple of bucks will be tough and time consuming. Everything else will just flow.

 

You echo a lot of my thoughts. It's really not hard at all to earn money online. Just about anyone with a functioning brain can do it, really. It's a smart idea to take that online money and invest it into your website or forum. Just common sense. If you need to invest a lot of money into a forum it is probably a scam.

 

It's possible for anyone with even basic skills to make some money online today. If you just do a little it of research you'll see that there are any number of programs out there, and at least one will fit your style of working. It does help if you have a little bit of money to get started though.

 

Like any business, having a capital to start out in Internet Marketing certainly helps. However, the great thing in this industry is that one can make money without even spending. I'm mainly pertaining to blogging. This is how I started and I purchased various tools as I earned enough money.

 

I do not completely believe in that. I believe there are a number of things you can do to make money with no initial investment. I also believe that in some cases it is important to invest in yourself, and at some point it is needed. I do not believe you can expect other people to pay you if you do not even pay yourself by investing time and money into your business. However it is possible to make money without money.

 

Thing is, this depends on what you're doing to make money online. For example, if you're a freelance writer, then it's easy to say you can make money without an initial investment because all you have to use is time and your brain. But for affiliate marketers, for example, they need to set up a site, do SEO, etc. Some would buy tools to make things faster. Some would hire web design or SEO companies to do the work for them. At the end of the day, it's all about ROI.

 

Unfortunately there a lot of scammers out there who tend to trick the gullible and misinformed that you need to invest a bunch of money online in order to even have a chance at making a decent income. That couldn't be further from the truth. It's quite possible to make a very nice profit with very little investment. Stay away from sites that ask for something up front. Nine times out of ten they are not worth it and/or are a scam.

 

It is true for the most part. You can still make money with nothing, but most likely that means you will have to do all the grunt work. Let's use an Authority Site as an example. They can potentially bring in a lot of dough, but require a ton of content to get started. If you had money, you could outsource a lot of that work and just reap the benefits, but since you are starting from zero, you have to do all the work yourself which takes a ton of time. Eventually you put in the work, make money slowly but surely, you can be at a point where you are using your money to make money.

This isn't just true with IM as well. I invest a lot on the side too (when I say 'a lot' I really mean I read a lot about it, but don't have too much money to invest). I own a piece of property and I love real estate, but in order to successfully make a money in real estate I need a ton of money. Even just the one property I own took me a while to acquire, but each proceeding property will be easier and easier to obtain (my first property is being rented out so I am earning a small amount of profit each month). That small profit will help me save for another down payment just slightly faster and once I have my second property, it'll be just slightly faster again. It is frustrating being relatively young and having all these ambitions but lacking the money to do it.

I think that's what got me into IM. The fact that you can still make it big without starting from much. With stocks, real estate or a B&M business, they all require a good deal of money up front (maybe not stocks, but in order to see some decent gains that are worth your time, you need some serious cash). With IM, I can start by just writing some articles and get paid for that. It won't make me much, but it is a start, and that's all it takes.

 

Yeah these days it's not that difficult to find programs that will pay you a few dollars here and there for some work. The real trick is to find where to put that extra money, though since only spending it on consumer goods is a bit of a dead end whereas if you are able to use that money to grow more then you'll eventually have more to spend for retail. It's just that of course it's easier said than done but it doesn't make it any less true.

 

I agree having money to invest into AM can indeed speed up the process, if you know what you are doing. I have seen many people over the years going broke because they weren't generating enough in sales to justify the money invested each month (hosting, auto-responders, google ads, other advertising $). I've also seen most of the people I've watched who started a blog or website not make it. (same odds as offline odds of succeeding in business)

What I don't agree with is that you need a website, blog, hosting and an autoresponder to make money with affiliate marketing. I do agree that it is ONE way to make money w/affiliate marketing. There are just as many if not more who use other advertising methods and are very successful.

I also think time and energy can be exchanged for money to advertise your affiliated products/services. If you start a blog as a hobby and put in a few years building organic but free traffic, day in and day out , and you're providing top notch content, there is no reason you can't be make a great monthly income.

IF you know what you are doing, google ads is one of the top if not the number one fastest way to make money as an affiliate marketer but it does take money and experience. (plus again, same as blogging or any biz, most won't make it)

 

There are still a lot of things that you can do online without investing money first. However, I think that if you want to make a solid investment in your future, then you'll want to take the money that you earn from these places (or at least some of this money) and reinvest it into whatever type of business you're trying to get up and running. This has changed a lot since the past and I'm thankful to have gotten in when it was still possible to make money without the investment.

 

I think it really depends on the situation - if you are starting a legit brick and mortar business than yes, you will need money to cover the expenses that you will need to get started - if you are looking to make money providing a simple service or working for someone else - than no - especially if you are looking to work online to make some extra cash - no, You should never pay someone money for the opportunity to make money.
