Has anyone gotten their site listed in the DMOZ, if so what tips would you provide?

    You know what Roderick,

Thats probably the best question I've seen here in months.
DMOZ actually has people (real people) who research sites before they are listed. One thing that will stop you from getting listed is not having a physical business address listed on your site.

Other than that as long as you have a legitimate business (sorry but Just been paid will not get listed) with original content they will list you.

    Good luck,

It takes some time. Each request is checked by an individual volunteer. It will take 6 weeks minimum.

It can sometimes take a little longer than 6 weeks, if the category does not have a volunteer who is mainly reviewing it.

This just means that it is a shared category, and will be reviewed but it may take a few extra weeks.

    Hi Roderick,

Something to keep in mind is, getting listed with DMOZ is not nearly as important as it was 5-10 years ago. What you should focus on is getting good rank with Google and the other search engines and building a brand.

    Good luck
