    I am quite skeptical of linked in but have an account also. It has let to land me much of anything and just do not believe it is worth my time to 'pretty up' my linkedin profile.

    That said, I've noticed there are codes attached next to most peoples name, I think it may have something to do with ones qualifications.

    Anyone else know what I am talking about?

    Yes, everyone who is a professional should be on LinkedIn! My question to you is, do you find it helpful to accept all requests that you receive? The point is to build a professional network, and if someone asks for a recommendation for someone you've never met or even really communicated with, it's taking away the strength of your networks. I find that if I do accept someone I don't actually know (same genre of job, recruiter, etc) it becomes more about sales than a real connection. Anyone else feel the same?
