Still Very Effective

Article marketing is still very effective in driving quality traffic to your website and/or offer. I believe that the thing with Article marketing to make it really successful is that you have to produce good articles. They dont have to be the greatest or best writing on the subject but it should be very descent. Descent enough that people can get some quality information from the article. But the field is very competitive so to be successful in writing articles for a certain specific product or service, you have to (in my opinion) produce a lot of articles on the topic and put them out there online. There are many sources that provide article writing services these days. And many of them are very good at what they do. If you don't have the time to produce your own articles (lots of them), you then may want to hire one of those article writing services to complete the work for you.

As this field is constantly evolving -- I don't think decent cuts it anymore. You should not be willing to put anything less than top notch writing and materials on your site. Your website is a direct representation of you and your business... and people make assumptions based on what they see. If you are placing sub-par materials on your site -- what assumptions are they making about your business?

This is very true. Content is the key here in terms of having a successful article marketing campaign. I did some article marketing a year ago and received a lot of hits. I made sure my article was 100% original and not something copied from another source. When a visitor comes to my article, I want to keep them intrigue in what I have to say and visit the link in the last sentence. Article Marketing is not irrelevant by any means. When done right, you can and will see increase in traffic to your website.

I agree. It's best to have something unique to offer, but as long as you put up good groups of content and the amount is sufficient enough for readers to feel satisfied they mostly will probably come back for more. The other important thing is that you should update constantly and regularly because nothing is more of a turn off to readers than returning only to see the same content.

Of course. Articles have played and will always play a great role in SEO. Content marketing is the lifeblood of SEO, if you ask me. Without it, where would your keywords go? What's there to optimize in the first place? What would encourage your prospects to buy your products if not content?

I remember back a few years ago EzineArticles were so powerful that an article could get to the first page of Google without any backlinking whatsoever. Those were the days.

I completely agree. Article marketing is very effective. It is vastly growing more and more each day. However, many articles that I have read recently seem to lack efficiency. You would automatically assume that any individual that wants to be taken seriously and portrayed as a serious writer, would make sure their work is up to par, cream of the crop even. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.

A lot of writers will not include a call to action, and if you don't, it's just an article. not a way to drive traffic. You need to have a "For more information on xxxx, visit: xxx.com" or whatever. You need to have the reader wanting to know more about the subject.

This is an important point. There is usually an author profile box at the end of each article in a directory, where you place your link, but so much better if you also have an effective call to action and provide a link to a specific page where the visitor will genuinely find out more about what they have just read, or where they can subscribe to your email list.

As far as writing a quality article, that is a no-brainer. Vsitor will not want to click a link to find out more if the article they have just read is hard to understand, does not make much sense or is full of errors that should have been spotted during proofreading and corrected by the author.

While social media gets a lot of attention by the digital marketers, email marketing done well is still one of the most effective digital marketing tools your business can deploy.
