Not quite sure in what way you might be asking. As for SEO it shouldn't have any negative impact and can help build your visibility. Personally you can lose a lot of your privacy by sharing things so in that regard it can be.

I agree with what many have said here. I don't think social networking sites are harmful if the intended usage is not to harm. They can be pretty beneficial. It can increase traffic to businesses, provide a great means of networking and bring together friendships. It is a means for some great entertainment as well.
 
I don't think it is harmful if you used it properly. A person must know his/her own limits and know what is right form wrong when using this tools. As long as you do not do bad things to other and to yourself ( to much twitter or facebook) you are ok. But just be careful since the internet covers the whole world.
 
Like everything in the world, these sites aren't harmful unless abused. If you go to these sites from time to time it's perfectly fine, but if you spend all your time on them it will be harmful.
 
Monitoring and controlling your social media is very important, blocking spammers and troll and to be honest it is part of your image. It can only be harmful if you don't use it correctly for example to use it bad mouth someone or you get people writing remarks and rather than delete them you reply and add oil to the fire. That's why some celebrities end up deactivating Twitter when they make silly retorts which harms their image.
 
I think social media used as a tool to stay in contact with family and friends is a good instrucment. Some people put information that should not be put in such a public place out there and then get pissed in other people get their hands on the information. If you do not want your information out there don't put it on social media.

Only if you're using some methods which aren't recommendable, such as paying for likes or not investing time, effort and money in them. If you're using social media privately, to connect with your friends and family, then you should just take care not to reveal too many information.
