With all people having their own speciality, which of course leads to a broad and diverse forum, I would be interested in starting a discussion about different ways to make money online? Also, what methods have you tried and failed with?

Surveys online was a total failure. Too much time for too little money, tons a spam and phone solicitations. It took weeks to get all the spam opted out and never received any payment.

Today, In the technology world, you can earn lots of money through doing some online work or business. There are plenty of great sources are available for making money easily. You can become a freelance article writer or doing online surveys and many other things.

1st I would say the survey idea is a big waste of time,

But yes Brian find a product or something that you know about and write about it. Getting that traffic takes time and effort.

On your eBook though: Some of the suggestions are very good. We have one client that has done exactly those things. Look at her news page at reinacottier.com. She uses her FaceBook, Blog, WordPress and some sites specific to what she does and she sells more original art than she can produce.She dosent have any affiliate ads or depend on advertising income.

The drawback is that if you use social media you must be social. This means you must also keep up with it which takes time and effort.
 
Thanks for such a useful and important advice. Although, you can earn lots of money doing some others like Blogging, Tweeting, Forum Posting and SMS marketing.

Unlike most "Money making programs" you have started a business of your own.

Some things to be careful of though for those who are considering the Web Hosting business. If you have no knowledge of servers and server management this may not be the business for you as you will receive many customer support calls. You also should be aware that every time a client purchases services for a year (or more) you are locked in for that period also. if you are an honest person you can't just walk away and quit as you customers will be left high and dry.

Yes it not not any easier than a brick and mortar business. You need to have a business plan, finances arranged and be willing to invest the time it takes to build a business.

Remember if you sign up for "Make money on the internet" businesses you are not starting a business but working for someone else. If you sign up as an MLM or affiliate marketer you are merely making money for someone else.

If you want to make money online do it right the first time. Start a business like any other. Your market for an online business is much broader than a brick and mortar business but your competition is also larger. You may have to look at your products, pricing and marketing a little differently than a business run locally but the rewards have the potential to be much larger to.
