There are different ways to do Pinterest marketing for your business:
Designate Boards to Represent Your Business
    Explore Rich Pins
    Follow Other Businesses
    Greet Commenters
Add an On Hover Pin It Button to Your Images
    Optimize Pinterest for SEO
    Write a Good Business Description

How has your success been with Pinterest? I've heard that it's a great traffic source, but it obviously depends on the niche of your site. What kind of numbers are you getting? And how soon did the traffic start once you started promoting? I created an account last week, but I haven't done much with it yet.

I've done some Pinterest marketing but haven't been very successful with it. You did mention something that I'm curious as to how to do though: How do you create an on hover for on your images? Is there a website that I could go to to create this or something? I'm hoping it wouldn't have to be done in PhotoShop as I'm no good at that. Any help is appreciated as I think this could give my Pinterest marketing a boost. Thanks

You are right, it's best to treat Pinterest just like any social site where you are able to utilize the full features as well as interacting with the audience. As long as you and your business are a good match for this site then it will make things a little easier to get into the community and start marketing.

I have been seeing some good traffic as well as backlinks through pinterest. Even though, there would very less conversions to my business, I could see good number of visits. You can post unique images in your pinterest account with relevant title and description also location etc. and share in other profiles like Facbook, Twitter rather directly posing your website URL in Facebook and Twitter all the times.

So, forgive me but I'm not that familiar with Pinterest, someone will see an image of yours and click on it and that will take them directly to your site? Or they will click on the image and it will be enlarged and then there is an option for them to visit your site?

In Pinterest, above the image, you will see one option called ' Visit Site', if you click on that, will be redirected to the source page for that image.

Ah, okay, thanks. So, if someone likes what they see, and wants to see more of the same, then there is a pretty good chance that they will want to visit the site. That's good to know, it tempts me to give it a shot, but I have so many other things right now that I'm trying to focus on.

How does a person get to the orginal poster of a pin after it has been pinned several times. I have seen pins I liked and wanted to get more information but when I clicked I was taken to another board or a picture, it would not take me directly to the first post.

I've just started to use Pinterest and I added the extension to my browser so it's easier to add photos and images. I think it takes time and I have actually found some people have pinned some of my images from my articles without my knowing, so you should be aware of this and always do a search regularly. As it was a photo that I had used from Creative Commons it was fine, but shows that you do need to monitor things.

I use Pinterest simply because I don't wanna avoid it, but I can't say that it brings in a lot of traffic. I guess for Pinterest it depends a lot of your content and what niche your website is about.

Pinterest has been a great source of traffic for me. If you have the right niche then it is really worth investing some time into setting up a pinterest account and some boards. You need to have visually appealing images or DIY info graphics. Anything related to fashion, celebrities, cooking, DIY, and anything artistic works wonderfully on pinterest. Remember, the site is mainly used by women.

Pinterst is also a great way to show off any handmade work that you do. Speaking from personal experience, if you have an etsy shop you need to start using pinterest.

I just learned that it is best to use Chrome as your browser and to get the extension that Chrome has to help with your Pinterest Pins.

Pinterest is good for attracting customers to your business. I have noticed that many have visited my Pinterest page and have repined a lot of my items. I can see this as a good tool for promotion.

Oh, you have forgotten two very simple things particularly if you want to make your Pinterest pins:
    1. Don't forget to place your keywords as hashtags.
    2. Add a link to your website on your picture's description.

Pinterest users can use hashtags when sharing their pins, as with other social networks like Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr. However, Pinterest has its own unique search system, so hashtags are not the most effective way to make your content searchable on this social network. Hashtags are more effective if you use your own, brand-specific hashtags, and less effective if you were to share a pin with the hashtag #recipes, for example.

Some say that Pinterest brings them a lot of traffic, some say that they haven't seen much from it. I'm somewhere in the middle, but I think mainly because I haven't had the time yet to explore it enough. I also believe that Pinterest is good for some niches, but that for the other won't do a thing, just because the target audience isn't on Pinterest. So the important thing would be to do the research and make sure that your target audience is on Pinterest and not somewhere else.
