In addition to the new Penguin update, Google has begun a new update targeting sites sharing pirated media that had previously been showing up high in their own search results for queries related to such media. This is an update to a previous update issued by Google approximately two years ago to target piracy.

As of right now the sites hit the most appear to be torrent sites, such as torrentz.eu and isohunt.to. Google is also taking effort to affect common search queries used by people searching for pirated content, and replaced their previous search results with links to more legitimate sites where users can purchase/rent legal copies of what they are searching for.

Of course there is always a possibility that these updates could inadvertently affect other sites, so it's worth keeping an eye out for - particularly if your site focuses on stuff such as movies or tv shows.

The problem with these Google updates is, even though it's not an update that you would be concerned about, there is still a chance of getting hit because there are always innocent casualties when Google releases something new, because the algorithm cannot be perfected.

Google's trying to single out sites involved in spamming and piracy. It's turning into an online "police." Anyhow, I don't really blame them. I'm sure they're having a hard time fixing their system because of people trying to circumvent the rules. I would be sad, however, because that means I would have to say goodbye to my favorite streaming sites soon. I am not yet solvent enough to order original DVDs and Blu Ray discs.
