Since we are in the discussion of money, what was your first paying job? Did you enjoy your time there or dreaded every moment of it? How did you get that job?

For me, I am still on my first paying job. I am an engineer on a tech firm. Enjoying it so far, yet it can be stressful. I have to contend with the constant running of the machines while I crunch data in the factory. I had that job immediately after college since I was a scholar of the company. Return-service.

My first full-time job was in an insurance office. It was not the sort of work I wanted to do, but I had been forced to learn office skills at college, so it was all I was qualified to do. I moved on to a job in publishing which really was of interest to me. Since I became self-employed in 1998, I've never wanted to go back to a regular job.

I see. I presume that you are doing well. So far, I have no problem with my job...but I am planning to start a company with someone close to me. An animation studio. There are no large animation studios here that I know of. If that succeeds, then I will bid goodbye to being an employee and become an entrepreneur full time.

My first job was as an office clerk at a University. After graduating from college, I went through this weird phase like I don't know what to do with my life. I mean, when I was sill studying, I have this huge dreams and goals that I want to achieve someday, and after finishing school, I felt like, "What am I going to do now? Where will I start?" Because I was still so attached to my previous school, I decided to find out if they offer jobs for newly graduates, and yes they did have slots, though they only hire "eligible past students with good grades and no failing grades." The job was pretty cool and fun, just basic admin tasks, but I dreaded superior co-workers. People can be really annoying at times. However, it's a good training ground for me.

My first paying job was in a London department store in sales. It is one of the most expensive stores with celebrities shopping there, so I always had to look the part. I once left a tag on a chat show host's wife's clothes and had to call them to apologize and send a biker to their house to remove it. It was my first ever job and was fun, but not a life I wanted, but I know what it's like to work in retail.

My first paying job was working as a telephone guy for my grandfather's AC repair business. It was pretty hard at first but I eventually started getting the hang of it. That job lasted over the summer. I'm still a bit "telephone shy" but that job definitely helped me out in that area.

My first paying job was at the local government office. I was tasked to handle a few projects for the city mayor, who was unfortunately sick and had to take several leaves of absence. I would have stayed longer had politics not got in the way. Back then I was so naive and unable to tolerate tensions. After a year, I quit, moved on to a writing career and have worked for a few private firms since.

My first paid job was at the gift shop inside an aquarium. I really liked it and even though the pay wasn't great, I stayed there for three years until I moved away for college.

My first full time job was a programmer at an IT Company in my country. I stayed there for almost 2 years. I was a good job. I learned to develop my programming skills as well as people skills in handling our clients queries. I was quite good except the pay. LOL

Well the important thing as a novice programmer is to get that experience in and on your belt. Once you have that the good paying jobs start opening up.

I was working as a radio DJ when I received my first payment. It was close to nothing, but it increased in time. I've changed many jobs since then.
