What is Pinterest? Is it helpful for business?

Pinterest is popular in India ??

 

It depends on what your business is and who your target market is. It is like a bulletin board where you can post images, videos and links similar to StumbleUpon. The primary demographic of Pinterest is female with the most popular subjects being cupcakes, lace, home decor, fashion, style, etc.(think Lady's Home Journal, Elle, Oprah, etc.) If you are selling tires or fishing gear, you are probably not going to get much traction there. The site really started to gain ground when it became popular with mid-west housewives in the U.S.

 

I've no idea how popular Pinterest is in India. Like any other social network it can only be beneficial to your business if you have the time to be social. Sort of a catch 22 really. If you have time to network on social sites like FaceBook you probably aren't real busy.

 

Not only in India, Pinterest is popular worldwide today, I think this website has taken its growth today in very short time. If someone is thinking about image sharing Pinterest can be first preference of him.
