Making money with affiliates

Aside from quality content, it may help if you add social media platform like Facebook as way of engaging to the visitors. This can contribute that there are real people managing that website.
 
Many novices think , Adsense is an only way of earning . But real earning you can get with affiliate marketing .
 
I really liked the article "Starting a Web Based" was a good read for me because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has fallen for the hype. Learned the lesson and am just looking to get a lot of good quality advice and I'm sure one day, I might just make a dollar. But until then, the focus is to learn, learn, learn. I'm really enjoying this thread.
 
Thank you for posting this. I am just now considering the idea of creating my first functional 'money making' blog. I have maintained a blog for personal enjoyment before but it didn't require the knowledge and skill that my new venture does and I am constantly trying to figure out how people do it. I am still a long way from my goal -- but this post gives me a lot to consider.
 
Great reading through all these responses because almost every affiliate program I have ever used just isn't worth it. You provide loads of free traffic, rarely make any sales and if it's CPC or CPM the rates are ridiculously low. Guess I am still learning with time but affiliate market is tough, takes an immense amount of traffic to make anything and it can become expensive if you are using paid advertising of your own.

I know I'm replying to a really old post but I just wanted to say that right now, in november 2014, I don't think adsense can work unless you have a huge site with tons of traffic every day. There are other means to make money and affiliate marketing is one of them. Sure, you also need traffic on your affiliate offers but I think it can pay off much easily than adsense.

Think about this. Most of the big name bloggers aren't making money by blogging. Instead they are making money by promoting products and services (i.e. affiliate marketing).
 
As far as I'm concerned (in my personal case) it's all about traffic. I can usually convert reasonably well, but I need to amp up the traffic. I'm experimenting with a lot of different techniques, but not many have clicked for me lately, other than what I've already been doing..
