    Hi there!
I hope I posted this on the right place.
I need help. I am really trying to set up a site.
I am going over into the different places to check for domain name and web hosting offers.
I just wanted to know, if I should get first a domain name or should I get a domain name with web hosting?
Or If I should get a domain name first, then once I got more penny, I can subscribe to the other?
    Thanks much.

    Hi Irona,

If you have thought about a domain name and it is available then buy it before someone else does. you can choose a host later if need be and most have a Site builder that will help you set up a site without too much technical skill.
When you set up a hosting account you will have a temporary domain name or you can just use your IP address to access your account So a domain name is not absolutely necessary right away. For business purposes though you will need one to avoid looking like a "Fly by night" outfit.

    Good luck,

    Hi,

If your looking at making your own DIY website, then most domain name retailers sell domain names that come complete with web hosting including a free website design builder as standard making it exstremely easy to desgn your own website without web coding experiance. However if you prefer to keep your domain name seperate from you can always use Weebly.com for hosting and designing your website with and simply change the DNS setting within your domain name control panel from your domain retailer. All which is clearly easy to follow with instructions from Weebly. If you need any help with your DNS settings, we are sure either ourselves or other members on this forum can advise you on how to change your DNS settings.

Get a coupon, search on google for coupon codes for domain, then get hosting. Start your site.

Its better to go with domain name with web hosting, because it reduce your cost, but choose a proper hosting with proper review.

If you have the money and you know for sure that you are ready to go with publishing your site, then go ahead and register the name. One of the best to use is GoDaddy and I do believe that they offer some free hosting for starter sites. You have many options for registering you Domain name such as extensions like -- com, net, biz, ws -- and many more. I use a company called Weebly. You can register with them and they offer some free hosting too and then you can upgrade when ready. The main thing is to choose a stable strong company to work with so that your site wont be here one day and disappear tomorrow.

As others have already told you you should get first your domain name. Don't think too mucho about it just search for the best deal you can get and buy your domain. The usual price is about 10 to 15 dollars but it's easy to find a coupon code to buy one for less than 5 bucks. You can also check the nice trick to get a name from Godaddy for 1 dollar that I shared on this same forum.

    Good luck.

Thank you so much for posting this question. I myself have been debating with the same dilemma. I am a writer by trade and I am wanting to start a blog that I can later use to create a following and monetize -- but I am not proficient or knowledgeable about things like domains and web hosting.

You should do keyword research and choose a domain name that contains a good keyphrase.
