How to increase traffic for our website

Hey guys, this is a really nice Forum. I learned a lot about SEO. But the problem is there are so much info out there and it's really hard to find the most useful information for our website.

We are an online retailer that sells electronics accessories at a fairly low price.

Do you guys have any suggestion about how should we promote our website?
How do you guys build backlinks?
Any help will be appreciated!

Firstly your website looks really good, very clear and easy to navigate.

With regards to promoting your website the best tool you can use is to ensure your website is search engine optimized (SEO). By ensuring your website meets the requirements of search engines and their algorithms your on a good solid step to gaining good traffic. SEO helps you to find out the best way to ensure your website appears higher than others in regards to page ranking.

Secondly, backlinks are also a major part of any SEO campaign, all links are generally useful, but the majority of backlinks should be from other websites that offer the same products and services as your website does. Yes this is hard, due to competitors won't want to share links easily, and use your keyword /phrase for the best performance.

Thirdly, you could try PPC campaigns but these can be costly and it is not 100% proof, e.g. anyone can click your advert and you'd be charged for it, even your competitors, so watch out.

Lastly you should also help lower your Alexa rating, by downloading a custom search bar, and use it to search for your website through. This will help lower your Alexa rating and help your page rating or use traffic generators.

Use link building technique
Increase the more inbound links
Publish your content to on other websites with a link back to your site
Try pay per click advertising

 

try to find key words for similar sites from Alexa & try to incorporate those in your website.

 

Thank you for all these info. Do you have any suggestion for how to build the backlinks? I tried to answer questions in forums and post a link in the signature but was considered to be spam...

Also, there are so many places for "directories submission". Is that really useful since I am not even sure what are those websites and where they are going to submit my URL.

I did try the google adword. Honestly, it does bring some traffic and purchase. But considering the input we invest, the output is really not worth it.

Links building is a lenghtly process and does take a long time. All links are good, however saying that websites from the same field are the best. e.g. website design companies should get links from other website design companies. Yes this can be exstremely hard to do especially in a competitive market. Our advice is to try and link with websites from other countries where your less likely to be refused. I have enclosed a few sites that are useful :

Link Calculator - Very useful and offers good advice about links.
Link Market - Great tool for building links with a wide range of services, even competitors websites if their listed.

With regards to signature.. don't use your website as a signature.

Directory listings are a good form of links, as your website link is listed within a catagory, just make sure you list your website under the right catagory for the best results, using your keywords /phrases in the title that you use for your SEO optimization campaign.

Lastly all links don't forget to Ping them for faster results, Pinging in short gives search engines spiders a kick start to crawl your links quicker.

Hi,Yours is a Ecommerce sort website which does not have content but just images and product details,so I dont think so that any linkbuilding formula may fetch visits to you,But yes Link building can improve your Rank,It can be useful for THE VALUE of your property
but not give you any traffic;Such websites gets traffic through PPC Campaigns and word of mouth ,The same way as you are doing here!!

This entirely depends on your competetiors websites link building statistics,I am sure those who are on top for your products are working since years to reach TOP 10 ,So bringing a website beating them will be a Taunting task,

If you are financially sound then there is just one way to bring it on Top and that is to get into PR8 or PR9 links which may be a expensive experince

One of my website which was in SANDBOX,CAME OUT within few days and touched top 10 with my fav keyword phrases
So i think you must go For Very High Link building plans.......Mere submitting to pr 2,Or 3 Or 4 may not produce quick results
Where as your website is neat and clean !!Link building works fast only if you have a content rich website to throw Organic results
Just few Good links are enough to bring website on TOP 10,No need for thousands of backlinks
