Having your site shown on your LinkedIn profile and sharing your content with your Linked in followers are just two ways that could increase traffic. Another way of getting your content viewed is through LinkedIn Groups.

At LinkedIn you can join a number of groups where people discuss topics related to your niche. As a group member you can start discussions featuring a relevant links to your content, asking other members for their opinions. Many of them will click the link to view the content before commenting. The best results will obviously come from big-membership groups based around topics that give their members plenty to discuss.

Interacting in groups will also help to build your reputation and get more followers.

I'm not sure if discussion posts that are linked to your content count as high PR backlinks, but they certainly will not harm your ranking by drawing attention to your content.

According to one expert, it pays to ask questions in LinkedIn and if someone throws you a question, you have to answer as authoritatively as you can. This will help you win clients or connections. LinkedIn groups are particularly powerful so you have to join those related to your niche and maximize the opportunities the site has offered before you.

xTinx, thanks for the suggestions on LinkedIn. Maybe you can answer ta question for me. I am an insurance agent looking for clients, I do not want to join insurance groups, I will not get clients from those groups. What type of groups do you think I should join?

I have no LinkedIn account. I should start one. I have not yet found my niche. So far, I feel like I am doing anything goes. I need to focus. I have not visited that site yet either. I should include this site for my future plans. To mix in blogging and electronics.

LinkedIn is a reputable site and you should be careful of who you add as connections. I'm in a few groups and there are some you have to apply to join. You should look at who you would like to connect with and see what groups they are in or choose groups that your potential clients are in, so then you have common ground and a means to connect with them.

LinkedIn can be a great way to promote your home business. Here are a few reasons why:

LinkedIn is a network with 65 million business professionals around the world.
The average LinkedIn member has an average annual household income of $109,000.
One person creates a LinkedIn login every second.
Nearly 50% of LinkedIn members have decision-making authority for their companies.

It's easy to see why LinkedIn is considered the world's largest audience of influential, affluent professionals in one place.

I own a LinkedIn account and a decent amount of connections, but I didn't update it for quite a while. I agree that LinkedIn is important for the traffic, especially nowadays. It seems to me that more and more people are on LinkedIn and that some of its features are improved in comparison to a year ago or so.
