I want to create an ad to be used on Facebook. Just wondering if any one here has promoted their product on Facebook with an ad. If so how did it go.

I used to be part of a political campaign team and we promoted this local aspiring politician who wanted to be the congressman in our district. We used a Facebook ad to get people to like his fan page. It went okay. The page now has 3,000 likes - something unexpected. No one thought the page would get so many likes. Even after the campaign, the likes still kept on coming.

Thanks for the reply, did you guy win the campaign? My product is a weight loss product, I hope the ad will not cost a lot to promote.

I will track this discussion too. I am also wondering about the boost post feature of the FB pages. I wanted to see if it is good for me. I am a blogger, and I want to make my name known more. This would be essential when I start an animation gig too.

There are choices on how much you would spend. Last time I checked, the least one was around 50 dollars for a few thousand people. I have to check on it again. You have to set your target audience and their preferences.

I've heard it said that the Facebook "boost post" feature is a rip off and a waste of money.

The page advertising thing seems to have good reviews however.

I see. I am glad that I did not push through with that plan, the boos post thing. Page advertising. This just means I have to clean up my own page in order to benefit from it more. I have not finished up adding the designs and all. Need to get around to doing that.

Yep you definitely want the page to look good before advertising because page hits are no good unless it impresses people which is what get's them to "like" it.

I used the Facebook Ad system and it is simple to get and use. The price would depend on how many people you are targeting.

I haven't tried the paid advertising program of Facebook but i made use of their Fan Page., similar to Profile Pages that may represent entities such as businesses, NGOs, politicians, and even writers.

How well did it work for you? Was it worth the money?

I had used it and paid around $6.24 for like 1,000 views something like that. I cannot remember exactly how many of those views turned to unique visits, but for what I was trying gain referrals for did not work the way how I wanted to. Right now I am just focused on finding a job which I think I may be close to getting one this year just hope for things to go well. It's either Mcdonalds ot Jack in a Box that I would get hired in.

Would it be good for getting page likes? For a fan page or something?

I did not really see any results as in the page likes, but it may just vary on what you are trying to advertise. I was trying to go for affiliate link conversions and get referrals but that did not work out as well. Then again I was just testing the service to see how it works.
