I've read about a guy going to book stores and putting fliers advertising his website in books related to his website's subject. I find that to be fairly ingenious, cheap and without really doing any damage to anyone or anything.
Have you heard of any similar ideas? Have you tried some of them? Have they worked for you?

I have found business cards in certain business books. I have never called any of these businesses. I do look at them though. I have never used this particular technique.

I have done something like that in the past and back then it really worked. I even created stickers and placed them in areas that where related to my site. The major challenge i had then was the level of stress required to do it was not so easy.

I have heard of people using this method to get people to ask for more information concerning their business and also using this method at the library also.

Currently, I haven't used guerilla marketing, but I have done some extensive research on this method. From books and online articles I have read, it is a great way to separate yourself and business from others and strengthening branding efforts. Creativity is always a good tool to have in your arsenal of tactics.

I have not experience guerrilla marketing moves within my area. Most use the usual advertising mode. I was once asked to answer survey about furniture though, but it was part of a college requirement..not a business related thing.
No. I have not thought of using guerrilla marketing moves. This makes me more curious though.

Guerilla marketing is certainly very positive and pro-active but does it actually work? I always suspected that business cards and flyers inside books and suchlike would be treated in the same way as junk mail - thrown straight in the (recycling) bin!
