    Hello,
I may like to know that the CPM (Pay per thousand impression) counts if the user visit the page or when the user sees?
    For example,
I put the ad at the bottom of the page, it is required to scroll so that can see the ad.
If there's a user visit the page, the user might see the ad if the user scroll, but the user don't. Will it count? Or it only counts when the user scroll down and see the ad?

    Thanks,
    Mai

    Hello,

In the past, CPM was measured based upon the number of the times the advert was displayed, however this was deemed to be an unrealible way to calcute how many people actually saw the advert.

Now, with the inplementation of Active View CPM, the bidding model guarantees that your ads are seen.

Google AdWords Active View CPM measures and charges an account only when impressions are deemed “viewable”. Viewable impressions are recorded when at least 50% of your ad is visible on a user’s screen for at least one second or longer.

This means advertisers will now actually know when their ads have been seen by an individual. This knowledge is incredibly insightful and can help make your display ads much more effective.

Although if an advertisement which is being published on your "platform" is still using the previous bidding model of “regular CPM” bidding, then they will be charged for impressions that appear well below the page fold. These impressions aren’t actually ever seen by anyone.

In conclusion, if someone is using the old bidding model, then yes; they will count. However, if using the new, Active View CPM; then no, those views will no longer be counted unless the user see's the advert.

    Regards,
