You have to consistently optimize your site to keep it in good position. Continue working on good websites with good pr related to your niche.

You could write posts to do with products you use or have reviewed, placing your affiliate link within the article.
Put links or banners on your side-bar.
Offer free books or reports to your readers, again with an affiliate link in the report to a product that's related to the information.

You have several options. But, one of the main things for successful Affiliate marketing is to offer products and/or services that are relevant to your current website audience. So, if you have a website that is focused on cars, you would then want to offer your visitors products and services that are related to cars. Whatever the main focus of your website is, you would then want of offer things that are relevant. One of the best places to start is with Clickbank. You can also learn a lot from Wealthyaffiliate. Check it out. Just google or yahoo for the names and they will pop right up.

I am not sure how this all works because different AF programs have different styles. One of the programs I signed up with lets you use a rotator through which you can add your sites and use your existing credits to let them rotate automatically whenever you view other members' sites. You can also do the viewing manually. Each successful surf lets you earn credits. The number of sites you've searched is commensurate to the number of members who'll view your submitted site/s.

Ok. So, that "rotator" program you speak of sounds like a "traffic exchange" type of website that gives people a way to get traffic to their own links by visiting the links of others within the network. However, affiliate marketing is a model that allows you the opportunity to earn money by promoting and/or selling other people's products and/or services. Each time you make a sale you would earn a percentage of the sale price.

It can seem very complex at first. But, with a little reading and research here and there, you can get a much better idea of how Affiliate marketing works. The basics of it is that you choose a product or service made available by someone else and you then promote such by driving traffic to such. The more targeted the traffic, the better. Then each time you make a sale you then get a percentage according to the agreement.

For lots more info, go to Clickbank and/or Wealthyaffiliate. You may have to register first. Do a search on Google or Yahoo for the names and they will pop right up.

You may also want to visit Amazon and do a search for Affiliate programs and you will find some very effective books on the subject.

I have been hearing more and more lately about the fact that Amazon has an affiliate marketing program. Has anyone used it? I have been curious and considered using it on my blog but I would really like to hear about other's experiences before I venture in that direction.

I agree. Clickbank is a great place to start. My husbands website has a focus on Michigan sports (that's where we live) so he offers products/services that are relevant to sports in Michigan. I haven't heard of Wealthyaffiliate so I'm going to have to check that one out!! Thanks for the tip!

I've seen a lot of people use either Clickbank or Amazon so I'd just go with those two. I personally think Amazon might be a better choice though since they offer a wider variety of products instead of just books, but then again you might be better off with CB in case your subject is a lot closer to their niche.

If you have traffic on your site you can monetizate it with content locker or display adds. MgCash Network has good one

There are many ways to monetize a site. You could try pay per click serve programs like Google Adsense. If I were to get situated with Adsense then I would be happy.
