One way you can tell a site has been designed by a novice is by the number of flashing, whirling, changing, moving things on the page. [IMG] And even once the designer gets tired of things that move, the clutter remains behind leaving a page that is filled to the gills with stuff. Clutter makes your pages hard to read and understand and that can drive away even the most dedicated reader. If you want your readers to stick around, you need to learn what stuff to keep and what to move to its own page.
