I've asked about this before and unfortunately I never got the chance to test it out, but the suggestion given to me was to use Copyscape or some similar program. I'm sure it works well since I've already come across many other websites that use it.

Copyscape or put some of the text from your site in quotes and search for it in Google. I'm not sure why you'd bother though, there isn't much that you can do if someone has stolen it. You can always add a banner to your site, saying that your content should not be copied, that may scare away a few would-be copiers.

Copyscape was the only way I could think of. Make sure you have a disclaimer on your website that states nobody has the right to copy content without your permission.

Everyone mentioned about CopyScape and that's true to avoid stealing and checking.

It would be much better, if you would put some javascript code in the web pages which will restrict everyone to copy the content or provide options after right click. Disable rightclick.. nobody will download the pages to copy the content and move to other site.

    Cheers!

Disabling right click is easy to bypass if someone was intent on stealing your content for some reason. All they would need to do is temporarily disable Javascript in their browser, which can be done easily via a plugin, then turn it back on when they are done. It also doesn't protect against people using automated scrapers to grab your content, since the bot's aren't "right clicking" at all. Plus a person can simply just save a whole page to their computer if they wanted as well.

There are some free and paid alternatives to Copyscape too you may want to try out. Personally I find Copyscape to be rather rudimentary. It's mainly for people brazenly stealing your content word for word, it doesn't do so well at detecting people who are paraphrasing your content and it's detection methods seem rather simplistic. If you took someone's article and swapped out a bunch of words for synonyms, as long as you don't go more than 4 or so words without swapping the next one out, the rewritten content tends to pass Copyscape.
