What is spider traffic?

I wonder what spider traffic is.

From the stats of my site I can see tha spider traffic is reletavly high and I wonder if this is something good or bad.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am not looking for a company or a SEO service.

I have seen in my traffic stats that I have a lot of "spider traffic", and I do not get what it is.

I assume it has to do with search engine spiders, that is easy to understand, but I don't really now if this should be high or low.

 

Iliana, you are correct in your assumptions- spiders and 'web crawlers' are one in the same- basically 'bots sent by search engines crawling your site reading meta tags, links & determining if there is fresh content.(in the case of Google- original content).

I would say, yes, as it means your site has attracted the attention of search engines, either through changes to your site, or searches leading viewers to your site. This activity is sometimes referred to as 'jiggling the web'.

 

Yes, higher spider traffic is always good. Keep posting new contents frequently to have consistent spider traffic
