    Hey guys,

I had a site whose keyword was on position 12 till yesterday. However upon checking today my site keyword has all of a sudden dropped to number 472.

The strange thing is I haven't done anything different to the back linking efforts and the content remains the same. I'm wondering if this is a temporary thing or if there is no way of possibly knowing at the moment? Can that position be gained again?

    Thanks

Its because of google dance. If you don't care for your keyword ranking and stopped optimizing for your keyword then surely this happens. You need to check this regularly and need to optimize your keyword daily so that your keywor ranking doesn't fall down. You need to post forums, blogs along with your keyword and this helps you in your keyword ranking.

It maybe because of the fluctuation of Google algorithm. I think you should review Google webmaster and also check your back links are placed properly !!................

Sudden drop of ranking is part of Googles Panda updates. They now penalise websites for unnatural linking using keywords. The best thing to do is vary your backlinks to differant pages and keywords and not just have a pacific keyword on all your backlinks. Good Luck! :)

As SEODIRECT4U says above; keep it natural and organic and you'll see quick improvements in your rankings. :)

That could be a temporary thing. You Just need to continually work for your keywords to maintain their ranking.

The main reason behind changing in ranks is a sudden change in our website, changes in competitor site and changes in Search engine algorithm. You can get back rank if you properly follow updated algorithm and make links according to new updates.

This is really a serious issue. According to me this can be occur by any of the 2 reasons. First, due to the fluctuation in google algorithm. Second, if you do not work on your keyword from a long time ago.
