Building a website out of blogger site is difficult and looks a bit unprofessional. I would rather just it to have a Wordpress platform to build a professional website.

Blogger has many great templates that look like websites. I was under the impression that Blogger no longer hosted custom domains. I would check out YouTube. YouTube is the first place I look when I need a tutorial.

I agree -- While you may have to skim through a few worthless videos, eventually on youtube you will find a video tutorial that will show you everything you need to know. The site is a great resource for learning if you know what you are looking for.

Although attempting to create a mainstream website from a blog platform might be somewhat challenging, I have had friends/associates to do it. I would definitely recommend devoting a whole day to researching the web for viable information. As the website owner, I would be thoroughly aware of Blogger's rules and terms. Due to the fact of it being a blogging platform, there might be some aspects that can be used on website, but not used on Blogger.

Blogger does let you use your own domain name for your blogs. That's great because you don't have to spend a dime for hosting, you just have to buy a domain through your usual registrar or through Blogger.

As for the original question. I've tried creating a custom template in the past but it's really hard. But of course I'm talking about 2005 or something like that. Ever since I moved to Wordpress I haven't look back again.

There are tons of templates to choose from so it shouldn't be that hard to set up a nice-looking website on Blogger. But if you haven't started yet, I suggest you also look into WordPress. WP gives you more control over your site and with so many useful plugins, you can do pretty much anything to your site. It's also inexpensive: a domain is about 10 bucks a year and you can get hosting for around $2-$5 a month. Search for coupons and this goes down even more.

I have heard that blogger has some pretty impressive templates but I have never been as familiar with it's interface as i am with wordpress - which is typically the one I prefer.
